The Celts have had good preseason tests away to Dromara FC and Newcastle FC so far, however the First team’s return to Glen Road Heights sees them take on mighty Premiership outfit Coleraine this Saturday, before the Bannsiders continue their European journey against Motherwell next Thursday night in the 2nd round of the Europa League @ the Showgrounds.

It will be a huge opportunity for the Bhoys to test their abilities against the current League Cup holders and Irish League runners-up as well as the Gaffer pitting his wits against former Irish League star, Oran Kearney as they take their rivalry off field for the first time.

New signings Denver Taggart and Chris Ramsey (from Crewe United & Larne respectively), will be making their home debut’s while Jay Donnelly will be looking to continue his fine form from last season, scoring 8 goals in his last seven appearances - six of them @GRH. It’s no wonder Irish League clubs have been interested in the Celtic Forward!

In the coming weeks the Celts are set to host Dundela and the Welders while travelling to Institute and Glenavon before embarking on the Ballymena Provincial League which is due to start on the 3rd October –all being well!

Limited fans will be allowed into grounds where protocols are in place including contact sheet, sanitising and of course social distancing. Please adhere to these measures, come to the game, stay safe and support the Bhoys!!

A lot of work has gone into revamping Glen Road Heights with John, Dixi, Jim and Seoirse spearheading the upgrade. Without them we would be lost. You will be impressed when you see what they have done!

Over the summer we have added an u18’s team and Over 35’s team. The Over’s kicked off competitive football at the ‘Heights’ this season in the Emerge League with a 2-4 defeat but the craic was great and Neil Meenan’s Bhoys are ready to go again this Sunday @ Rosario.

U18 Managers – Paul Morgan and Paddy Fox are excited to get the new season started and have already seen Mackers give some of their Bhoys valuable first team minutes during the first team’s two friendlies. Packy McLaughlin’s, Ballymena League Junior 3 League champions, have added to the boot room this year with Ciaran Carson and former first team forward powerhouse Darren Gallagher joining the Reserve Management team as they take on Division 2.

Mick McCrudden’s U15s are also looking sharp after a few months of training with first team coach Owen Baggley, who recently completed his UEFA A License – what an achievement!

Last but certainly not least, our Fustal Bhoys, spearheaded by the highly regarded UEFA B International coach Martin Perciavalle is on the lookout for new and exciting futsal players.

If we build it they will come, the future is most definitely looking bright – the future is green and white!!
